Black, White and Re(a)d All Over

plaid cinder blocks I'm contemplating what to make for dinner here. Can you tell? While some of these pieces are perfectly practical for every day wear, some are not. But that's the best part about fashion- making things in your closet more versatile than just for that special occasion or to go with that "specific" top you have. While this jacket from Express (on sale and you can use coupons too!) is a very distinctive plaid and color scheme, it will work over so many of my winter bottoms (ie: black pants, distressed jeans, vegan leather leggings, grey cords, long maxi skirts, etc) and finish/polish any look because it's such a statement piece on it's own.

This bag (on sale for 30% off!!!) happens to be my "every-single-day-as-a-mom" bag. It's perfect for throwing everything Mary Poppins would put into a bag and it cleans up well if God forbid something leaks out of a sippy cup or a snack manages to escape from a plastic baggie. I'm speaking from experience here if you can't tell. These shoes, while fabulous, can't claim everyday use but were once again an exciting find at Target. Thanks Sam and Libby for designing such fun and stylish shoes for one of my favorite stores.

My jewelry pieces are old and new Stella and Dot (yes, I know I have a S&D crush). Stay tuned for future posts as I recently got a few new must have pieces that I can't wait to wear and share! My top is Merona by Target that I got a few months ago. I wasn't able to find it online for you, but an easy way to re-create the idea is with fabric glue and a ton of sequins. I might just have to try this out for myself this week. If you try this suggestion, you're bound to have a mess of sequins to clean up, but an even more fabulous shirt in your closet. Send me pictures please!

My vest was a sale find (45% off now!) at Armani Exchange. It's reversible which is always a winning purchase in my mind and it also helps that it's very cozy and soft. I got lots of hugs from Chloe and Ethan the day I wore this. :) My pants are from one of my favorite designers, Blank (sitewide sale of 25% off with code cybercraze). They're a fine grey cord, super soft, stretchy and easy to wear with a button down, a sweatshirt, or a chunky over-sized sweater for some ideas.
