I reached out to a super stylish, dear friend, fellow mommy, and kids style blogger Ria, from Kidstylefinder.blogspot.com and asked her if she would do a guest post for SCF on what she does effortlessly- dress her kids to the 9's. Make sure you "like" and follow her on Facebook for lots of great tips and pics of her adorable, and always awesomely well dressed kids! Take it away Ria..... Do you have little ones you shop for? Love fashionable kids' outfits but don't see the point in spending a fortune on kids' clothing when they will outgrow them in a few months, or at most a year? Yes?! Then this post might be of interest to you...
My name is Ria and I'm thrilled to be contributing to Super Color Fashionistic this week! I write Kidstylefinder http://kidstylefinder.blogspot.com, a blog dedicated to providing your daily dose of stylish kids' clothing and accessories, at affordable prices.
When it comes to fashion, my personal philosophy is that you don't need to spend a fortune to look good.... I've always been a bit of a value hunter, and love making things (including my wardrobe) look appealing on a budget! Combine that with people asking me where I got my son or daughter's "hat" or "shoes", and the idea for Kidstylefinder was born!
To give you a sense of how I like to dress my kids ~ these are some shots from our recent family photo session taken by Danielle Guenther in the Meatpacking District... It was a pretty chilly day but we still had a great time!
Unfortunately that means most of the clothes pictured are no longer available... but I've included links to similar style items.
Both my daughter's sweatshirt and houndstooth leggings are from Joe Fresh, a popular value Canadian fashion brand now available here through JC Penney. The sweatshirt has a raw edge finish that I just love; she wears it with everything from sweats to a tutu with Converse high tops! I couldn't find a raw edge sweatshirt but here is an alternative on sale! Similar leggings at a great price, here! Her boots were from BabyGap Outlet, but here's a great pair that are also on sale. Now that she is older and expressing her own tastes and preferences with regards to her clothes, I also try to incorporate her tastes when shopping... LOL let's just say there has been a definitive shift in her wardrobe towards her all-time favorite color, pink. Case in point her Warmest Puffer Coat from BabyGap, here's a similar style. Her beanie was from 77Kids but I love this one too!
My son is not as particular, so I have a bit more freedom when shopping in the boys' department! His shirt (similar style here), jeans (here) and peacoat (similar style here) are from H&M. When the peacoat isn't warm enough on its own I layer it with a puffy vest (here). I bought his Adidas "Gazelle" sneakers through Piperlime on sale. You can find them here or here. His beanie is actually my Urban Outfitters beanie! Here is a similar style.
